feat: version acceptance criteria, warn before changing accepted crit… - #23
Keep every saved change to a requirement's acceptance criteria as a numbered, timestamped version; each decision records the version it was made against, and earlier versions open read-only on the Requirement history page (ADR-051).
Changing criteria that the latest decision accepted needs confirmation (API 409 accepted_criteria_change); confirming leaves the acceptance in the history and the requirement shows "Needs review".
Mark a requirement as a follow-up of others in the same project, shown on both requirements, with every add and remove recorded (ADR-052).
One milestone/sprint label per requirement, a list filter, and counts of Evidence complete (a fixed built-in rule) and Accepted (ADR-053).
Migrations RequirementCriteriaVersions, RequirementMilestone, RequirementFollowUps with generated SQL and rollback scripts.
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Organize requirements with milestone labels and filter lists by milestone, with counts for total, accepted, and evidence-complete requirements.
View acceptance-criteria versions and history. Reviews now show which criteria they addressed, and changing currently accepted criteria prompts for confirmation.
Link related requirements as follow-ups and review link-change history.
See evidence-completion status based on linked pull requests or commits and their checks.
Documentation
Updated API, architecture, and product documentation to describe these features.

Walkthrough
The change adds criteria-version history and review tracking, requirement follow-up links with event history, and milestone labels. Requirement summaries now include evidence-completion status. The API, web app, database schema, tests, and documentation cover these additions.
Changes: Criteria version history
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Criteria storage and API app/api/Data/*, app/api/Migrations/*, app/api/Requirements/CriteriaVersionEndpoints.cs, app/api/Requirements/RequirementEndpoints.cs, app/api/Requirements/ReviewEndpoints.cs
Requirements store ordered criteria snapshots, and reviews record the version they address. Updating criteria accepted against the current version can return an accepted_criteria_change conflict unless confirmed.
Version history and confirmation UI app/web/src/lib/*, app/web/src/components/requirement-form.tsx, app/web/src/components/review-panel.tsx, app/web/src/app/projects/[projectId]/requirements/*
The web app warns before changing accepted criteria and provides read-only criteria-version history with associated review decisions.
Validation and documentation tests/api/project-data.spec.ts, tests/schema/criteria-versions.spec.ts, tests/e2e/reviews.spec.ts, docs/*, docs/schema/requirement-criteria-versions*.sql
Tests and documentation cover version creation, migration backfill, review status, access checks, and confirmation behavior.
Requirement follow-ups
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Follow-up storage and API app/api/Data/*, app/api/Migrations/*RequirementFollowUps*, app/api/Requirements/FollowUpEndpoints.cs, docs/schema/requirement-follow-ups*.sql
The API supports listing, adding, and removing directional links. Link changes create events, and endpoint checks cover project membership, archived requirements, reciprocal links, and the 20-link limit.
Follow-up actions and UI app/web/src/app/projects/follow-up-actions.ts, app/web/src/components/requirement-follow-ups.tsx, app/web/src/app/projects/[projectId]/requirements/[requirementId]/*
The requirement page displays links in both directions and their history. Server actions submit link changes and surface API errors.
Tests cover link operations, history, validation, access control, limits, and database protections.

Full details: Title check
Explanation
The title "feat: version acceptance criteria, warn before changing accepted crit…" names the main change. The changeset adds versioned acceptance criteria, a warning and confirmation before changing criteria accepted by the latest decision, and the criteria-version history pages. The title is cut off at the end ("crit…"), which slightly reduces clarity. It omits follow-up links and milestones, which the PR also adds, but the title does not need to cover every detail.

Avoid loading the full project requirement list on the detail page.
The detail page awaits listRequirements(projectId) on every view. It uses only id and title to build follow-up candidates. That list has no bound and loads every project requirement with all of its review rows. Add a bounded candidate source, or load candidates only when the follow-up picker opens.

app/api/Requirements/FollowUpEndpoints.cs:43 Minor · Performance & Scalability · Poor tradeoff
Bound the follow-up history returned by List.
List returns every event for the requirement. Only Add caps current links, at MaxFollowUps. Each Remove writes an event with no limit, so repeated add and remove cycles grow the response without bound. Add paging or a history cap, and load older events on demand.

Validate milestone labels at the API boundary.
isLabel accepts padded and overlong strings. parseRequirementSummaries and parseMilestones then preserve those values unchanged, contrary to the documented milestone contract. A malformed response can therefore reach the UI without validation.

Review comment at @app/web/src/lib/projects.ts at line 86:
Update isLabel to reject labels with surrounding whitespace and labels exceeding
the documented milestone length limit, so parseRequirementSummaries and
parseMilestones reject malformed API values instead of preserving them.
Minor · Align the version guard with the API range. · project-data.ts:109-110
app/web/src/lib/project-data.ts:109-110 Minor · Data Integrity & Integration · Low value
Align the version guard with the API range.
The criteria-version API accepts int values, and stored versions are positive integers. A version from 1000000000 through 2147483647 can therefore be stored and returned, but this guard calls notFound() before making the request.
This requires about one billion sequential saves for one requirement, so the issue is minor with low practical reward before merge.

Assert the follow-up migration row is deleted.

…he Evidence complete rule
- The milestone Clear button no longer empties the field before the save; the field
follows the saved label once a save or clear succeeds, so a failed clear keeps it.
The browser test covers a failed clear.
- docs/PROJECT.md states the full built-in Evidence complete rule from ADR-053.

…, and criteria versions
- Enter in a field no longer confirms the accepted-criteria warning; only the button does.
- The warning closes when the criteria match the accepted ones again, so it never
announces a version that would not be created.
- The milestone action refuses form entries that are not text instead of saving them.
- The history page says when criteria versions can't be read, apart from having none.
- Migration RequirementCriteriaVersionTexts limits criteria versions to arrays of strings
(strict JSON path, so nested arrays are refused); history counts in schema specs rise by one.
