Student researcher

Hi, I'm Suhas, a high school student interested in engineering, AI, and robotics. I work on visual question answering, navigation simulations, and rover software.


Focus Areas

  • Engineering — simulation and software

  • Robotics — ROS 2 and Gazebo

  • AI — visual question answering and evaluation

Currently

  • Researching visual question answering at UC Santa Cruz

  • Studying lunar optical navigation with San Diego State

  • Contributing to MARVIN rover simulation at Cal Poly Pomona

Selected Work

  • AegisLand — simulation-only research on UAV landing perception and failure cases.
  • Lunar navigation — studying navigation estimates and measurement gaps in lunar orbit simulations.
  • Voyager / Elodin — contributed trajectory-error telemetry and a gravity model for spacecraft simulation.
  • Open source — merged contributions to NASA python_cmr, OpenMDAO Aviary, and OpenC3 COSMOS.
  • TennisRank AI — a school tennis-ranking app with a challenge ladder and team-aware doubles logic.
