Hi, I'm Sara 👋

she/her · Applied AI engineer @ IBM (HashiCorp) · Boston · published researcher · maker 🐹

I'm a data hoarder, and most of what I build started with a problem in my own life:

  • I wanted an interactive dashboard of how US manga publishing has changed over the years, but the data didn't exist in one place. So I started collecting every licensed English release, and that became mangarelease.
  • I was reorganizing my storage unit and needed to know what was on which shelf, so I built a 3D dollhouse of it. It maps every shelf and lights up the ones holding things I've sold and need to ship.
  • I wanted to preserve Chiikawa history, especially with the movie coming out. internet-historian saves those pages to the Internet Archive before they disappear.
  • No shopping app could read the receipts for my anime merch, so I built inbox-catalog to turn my order emails into a record of everything I own.

I also research adults who buy toys and collectibles, and why they buy them.

Catalogs

Every licensed English manga, manhwa, manhua and webtoon release in one calendar, plus a full archive of past releases. GitHub Actions scrapes 15+ publishers every day and redeploys the site. The data is open CSV and JSON for anyone to build on. I forked it from LNRelease (MIT) and added the API, ISBN backfill, tagging and tests.

A catalog of free perks that students and alumni already pay for but never hear about. It has a searchable list and a campus map, and a weekly check opens a GitHub issue when a link breaks. Built with Astro and Supabase on Vercel. It runs for Dartmouth and Carnegie Mellon, and you can fork it for your school.

Archives

Saves web pages to the Wayback Machine from your Mac and keeps retrying through Internet Archive outages until each page is saved. pipx install internet-historian

Turns your order-confirmation emails into a record of everything you've bought, so you can group purchases by project and check whether you already own something before you buy it again. It runs locally and never writes to your inbox. Installs as a Claude Code plugin with a zero-setup demo.

Desktop pets, ported to macOS

Windows-only desktop pet apps I rebuilt for the Mac, with fixes sent back to the original developers where I can.

Other repos

What it does
earditor Fills in missing song titles and artists in a music library, checking three sources and letting you pick. A notarized Mac app demo
loose-ends Groups your open Safari tabs by topic so you can close them. It never closes anything itself. Inspired by tab-out demo
wiki-gap-finder Finds people from underrepresented groups missing from English Wikipedia and builds a sourced research dossier on each. A person writes the article

I've also had fixes and a skill-tracking feature merged into Construct.

Sites I run

These are closed-source but free to use.

  • Which Adaptation? has a short quiz for each story that's been retold many times, and matches you to one version. It covers nine stories so far, including the Odyssey, Dracula, Journey to the West and Pride and Prejudice. It started as Which Odyssey?.
  • Phrasebook of the Dead is a browser horror game where you say travel phrases out loud in Japanese, Mandarin or Spanish to push a demon back.

Currently into

Chiikawa · anime and manga merch · special-edition books · Japanese · laser-cut commissions with Gremlin Made
