I'm a PhD candidate in economics at the University of Notre Dame and I'm on the 2026/2027 job market. I work in applied microeconomics, mainly health economics and its intersection with public economics. Most of my research is about preventable causes of death.
Job market paper: Sinaloa Cartel Presence and its Impact on Fentanyl Mortality in the United States. I use DEA intelligence on cartel control across U.S. field offices in an event-study difference-in-differences design. After 2014, fentanyl mortality rose by 5.5 deaths per 100,000 more in Sinaloa-dominated counties than in counties controlled by rival cartels, about 30% of the overall rise in my sample.
I'm also a Graduate Student Affiliate at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies and a Junior Researcher at REDNIE.
