Hi, I'm Nilo Vélez

I've been building websites since 1998 and contributing to WordPress since 2011.

  • I moderate the Spanish (Spain) translations of WordPress, and review and translate themes and plugins.
  • I'm a team rep for the Photo Directory and part of the WordPress.tv team.
  • I'm one of the organizers of the WordPress Sevilla community, Quedadas WordPress Online and WordCamp Europe.

All this community work is possible thanks to the wonderful people at Hostinger, who sponsor a good part of the hours I give to WordPress.

Things I've made

This account is where I develop most of my projects, along with small tools for the WordPress teams I work with and some personal experiments. Some highlights:

  • PDF Diva: a PDF viewer with presenter view, for everyone who's been told "my slides are a PDF" five minutes before a talk. (code)
  • LadyQR: QR codes made entirely in your browser, as you type. Nothing is uploaded. (code)
  • Machete: the toolbox I kept rebuilding on every WordPress site, turned into a plugin.
  • Intentionally Blank: a WordPress theme that does as little as possible, on purpose.
