This looks okay to me, but I have not closely reviewed the tests or examples.
I'll defer to @vnktshr21 for that.

I have (prematurely) created a Read the Docs project for nirfsa and added a webhook to nimi-python for it.
On your next commit to this or any other PR, it will trigger a documentation build.

Let me know when this goes in. I still need to add an automation rule to the RTD project before the release. It won't let me do it before we have a successful documentation build.
