[Feature Request] Official iOS Support as a Key Step for Broader European Adoption #321
I am aware that iOS support has been discussed before and that the Apple ecosystem introduces challenges that do not exist elsewhere.
This post is not intended as a complaint or criticism.
Instead, I would like to share some feedback from a European user perspective regarding the potential impact that mature iOS support could have on Tailchat adoption.
From what I can see, there are many people across Europe who are interested in Tailchat today but are still waiting for a mature iOS experience before making it part of their daily workflow.
There is much more anticipation around this topic than the team might realize.
Many of us do not see Tailchat as merely a messaging platform.
We increasingly see it as a collaborative workspace, which aligns closely with Tailchat's own vision of being more than just another Slack, Discord or Rocket.Chat alternative.
Another point I would like to highlight is that Tailchat is increasingly being discovered outside its traditional audience.
Through discussions with self-hosters, makers, open-source enthusiasts, homelab communities and technology professionals, I have noticed growing interest in Tailchat as a serious collaboration platform rather than simply a messaging tool.
Many people are surprised by how mature and flexible the platform already is.
In many cases, the conversation quickly shifts from:
"What is Tailchat?"
to:
"Does it support iPhone and iPad?"
This is why I believe official and mature iOS support could be a major catalyst for adoption, especially in Europe.
Not because Tailchat needs to imitate existing platforms, but because it already offers capabilities and freedoms that many users feel are increasingly missing elsewhere.
For some of us, iOS support feels less like another feature request and more like the final piece needed for broader adoption.
Thank you for the great work and for continuing to build such a promising platform.
