This sample demonstrates a small but realistic actor-based workflow for order processing in C# and modern .NET.
- A parent actor, the supervisor, coordinates the work.
- Child actors isolate inventory validation and payment processing.
- The application layer uses a simple service so the caller does not need to know about Akka internals.
- The same workflow is exercised by automated tests.
Akka makes it easier to model independent responsibilities as actors that communicate through messages. That is useful when:
- business operations are asynchronous,
- responsibilities should remain isolated,
- future growth might introduce more services or workflows.
- src/AkkaDemo: the console application and actor code.
- tests/AkkaDemo.Tests: test coverage for the order workflow.
- docs: this documentation and the slide deck source.
