fix: The uloop-status skill now covers cancelling a stuck command, replacing the separate uloop-cancel skill - #3404
The uloop-status skill now covers cancelling a stuck command, and the separate uloop-cancel skill is no longer installed.
Skill installs remove a previously installed uloop-cancel copy.
User Impact
Before: uloop-cancel was its own skill, used only to recover from a BUSY that does not clear. It still took up a slot in the agent's skill list in every session.
After: agents still find uloop cancel from the BUSY error hint, the uloop-status skill, and the execute-dynamic-code cancellation reference. The uloop-status skill description mentions cancelling, so searching the skills for it still finds the right one. uloop cancel --help now points at uloop-status.
Changes
Move the cancel contract (outcomes and exit codes, what cannot be cancelled, what the waiting command gets, what to do after cancelling) to the uloop-status skill's references/cancel.md, and link it from the skill body.
Move the one fact that applies only to execute-dynamic-code (while the main thread is blocked, the slot frees about 5 seconds later, when another command arrives) into that skill's references/cancellation.md.
Map cancel to uloop-status for the --help skill guidance line.
Add uloop-cancel to the deprecated skill names in both the dispatcher and the Unity-side installer, so existing installs drop the stale copy.
Update the skill lists in the READMEs, regenerate .claude/ and .agents/, and refresh the shared release input stamps (cli/common/tooldocs changed).
Verification
scripts/check-go-cli.sh (Go 1.26.10): passed. The new dispatcher retired-skill subtest and the updated cancel --help test failed before the change and pass after it.
go run ./cmd/check-skill-size: no SKILL.md over the limit.
scripts/sync-tool-docs.sh --check: the catalog matches.
uloop run-tests --filter-type class --filter-value ToolSkillSynchronizerTests: 54/54 passed. With uloop-cancel temporarily removed from the Unity-side deprecated list, the updated retired-skill test failed, so the test covers the entry.
uloop cancel is a rare recovery step out of a Busy that status reports, so a
skill of its own spent a description slot in every agent session for little
gain. Agents already reach it from the BUSY error hint, the status skill, and
execute-dynamic-code's cancellation reference.
- Move the cancel contract (outcomes, what cannot be cancelled, what to do
after) to the status skill's references/cancel.md, and mention cancelling
in the status skill description so a skill search for it still lands there
- Move the one execute-dynamic-code-only fact (a blocked main thread frees
the slot about 5 seconds later) into that skill's cancellation reference
- Point cancel --help at uloop-status, and add uloop-cancel to the deprecated
skill names in the dispatcher and the Unity-side installer so existing
installs drop the stale copy

Walkthrough
The uloop-status skill now includes cancellation guidance, and the CLI directs cancel users to that skill. Skill installation cleanup removes the retired uloop-cancel skill from both flat and grouped layouts.
The status skill now covers cancellation when a command remains busy or does not finish. Cancellation references link to each other and describe cancellation outcomes, including the main-thread-blocking case. The README skill lists remove the separate uloop-cancel entry.
The CLI maps cancel to uloop-status. Skill cleanup now treats uloop-cancel as deprecated. Tests cover removal from both layouts and expect help to refer to the status skill; shared-input hashes are updated.

Merge Risk: Minimal · up to d04c6
No actionable merge-blocking risk remains; the cancellation guidance and skill cleanup are consistent with the implemented contracts.

- Line 53: Update the cancellation guidance around `uloop status` to explain
that polling alone will not free a slot when a cancelled `execute-dynamic-code`
snippet remains stuck. Tell users to issue a tool command to start the
five-second grace period, then make a later request to trigger lease revocation
and retry after that period.

…t return
uloop status only reads the slot, so polling it never takes back the lease of
a cancelled execute-dynamic-code snippet that is stuck. Only a request from
another tool does: the first one starts a 5-second grace period and one sent
after it revokes the lease. Folding the cancel skill had left the status
reference saying to wait for Ready, with the grace detail only in the
execute-dynamic-code reference.
main hid verify-project from installed skills while this branch folded
uloop-cancel into uloop-status. Both sides rewrote the heading from 23 to 22,
so the merge kept 22 although the list now has 21 entries.
…esend
The CLI retries a busy tool command every second for up to 10 seconds, and
the 5-second grace period is sized to fit inside that window. One command
such as uloop get-logs therefore waits through the grace period and runs; it
does not come back BUSY for the agent to send again, as the previous wording
said.
