Summary

  • uloop record-video now returns evidence an agent can read without watching the video: a sheet of up to 32 consecutive frames around the trigger or the biggest change, a timeline sheet of the whole clip, and per-frame change numbers.
  • One command records a clip around one action (--seconds N --trigger '<uloop command>'), and a finished recording can be cut into an exact frame or a range sheet, even with Unity closed.

User Impact

  • Before: an agent could record a video but had no way to look at it, so flicker, one-frame glitches, and stutter were judged from a single screenshot, from code reading, or from hand-written probes and pixel scripts.
  • After: one call records around the action and returns sheets and numbers that tell a two-frame flicker apart from a smooth pulse. In a before/after trial on a planted flicker bug, agents with this branch reached a verified fix in 6.0 minutes on average versus 7.8, with roughly half the uloop calls, and all of them judged the fix from pixel-based numbers instead of inferred state.

Changes

Verification

  • Each child PR passed its own CI and an independent review before merging into the integration branch.
  • Manual trial on a sample game project: a positive control (flicker 65 / 32 / 32 versus fixed 58 / 3 / 4 for changed frames / frames matching two back / top alternating cell count) and a six-run before/after comparison.

…e check they serve

Agents pick a skill from its one-line description and read the body only
afterwards. An agent verifying a fix that stops a method from being called
never reached for pause-point or record-video: pause-point read as a
debugger ("Breakpoint-like: pause"), its trace mode and the meaning of zero
hits were only in the parameter table, record-video was framed as the step
after a screenshot, and run-tests claimed "change verification" outright,
so passing tests ended the check.

pause-point now leads with counting hits in trace mode, names the screenshot
of the paused frame, and says it confirms whether a code path ran after a
fix. record-video is for verifying motion after a change. run-tests drops
"change verification" and points at pause-point and record-video for the
behavior tests do not exercise.

The pause-point body sat 31 bytes under the 8,000-byte cap, so its target
forms and timeout notes move to references/troubleshooting.md, which already
covers timeouts and hot reload. The catalog descriptions and the generated
skill copies follow.
…nly in the generated copies

The previous commit left the source frontmatter on the old wording while
the copies under .claude/ and .agents/ already carried the new one, so the
next regeneration would have reverted it and Tool Settings, which reads the
source, would have shown the old text. The layout test that pins the
description's opening words follows.
main gained only the squash of the skill-description fix, whose tree
matches the head this branch already merged, so the merge keeps this
branch's tree unchanged.

📝 Walkthrough

The changes add frame-change analysis, burst and timeline sheets, and marks to recordings. They add one-shot capture with optional triggers and ffmpeg-based frame extraction. CLI option listings, tool descriptions, skills, and reference documentation now describe these workflows.

Changes: Recording evidence

Layer / File(s) Summary
Frame sampling, analysis, and sheet selection
Packages/src/Editor/FirstPartyTools/RecordVideo/FrameChangeData.cs, FrameTileSampler.cs, FrameChangeSeries.cs, BurstFrameBuffer.cs, TimelineFrameSampler.cs, ContactSheetComposer.cs, RecordingAnalysisDocument.cs, Assets/Tests/Editor/*
New models and algorithms sample frames, compute change and alternation metrics, select burst and timeline tiles, compose sheets, and serialize analysis documents. Editor tests cover sampling, selection, layout, and serialization.
Recording lifecycle and analysis responses
Packages/src/Editor/FirstPartyTools/RecordVideo/VideoRecordingSession.cs, RecordingFrameAnalyzer.cs, RecordVideoSessionHost.cs, LastCompletedRecordingStore.cs, RecordVideoResponse.cs, RecordVideoUseCase.cs, Assets/Tests/Editor/*
Recording sessions analyze captured frames, accept marks, and finalize analysis when stopped. Snapshots and stored recordings carry analysis and marks; responses map those values and sheet metadata. Sidecar paths and orphan cleanup are included, with editor tests for session lifecycle, storage, mapping, and retention.
One-shot recording and mark CLI
cli/project-runner/internal/projectrunner/record_video_one_shot*.go, pause_point_trigger.go, runner_commands.go, cli/common/tooldocs/*, cli/common/tools/default-tools.json
The CLI adds one-shot duration and trigger handling, trigger validation, and start-trigger-mark-wait-stop sequencing. Record-video command routing, CLI-only option help and listings, and mark action metadata are updated. Tests cover option validation, sequencing, and errors.
Post-recording frame extraction
cli/project-runner/internal/projectrunner/record_video_extract*.go, cli/project-runner/internal/projectrunner/record_video_extract_test.go
The CLI adds single-frame and time-range extraction from completed recordings. It uses capture metadata to plan ffmpeg extraction, validates inputs, checks generated images, cleans up failed outputs, and reports structured errors.
Skill guidance and feature documentation
.agents/skills/uloop-record-video/*, .claude/skills/uloop-record-video/*, Packages/src/Editor/FirstPartyTools/RecordVideo/Skill/*, Packages/src/Editor/FirstPartyTools/Screenshot/Skill/SKILL.md, README.md, README_ja.md, docs/adr/0019-*
The skills and references describe recording triggers, marks, generated evidence, metrics, extraction, and troubleshooting. README entries describe the expanded recording output, and the ADR documents frame evidence for stopped recordings.

The ADR says every stopped recording returns a burst sheet. Very short or static recordings omit it. Qualify the wording; this is a minor documentation fix and does not block merge.

Every stopped `uloop record-video` recording returns, beside the video file, evidence an agent
can read without watching the video:

- a burst sheet: up to 32 consecutive frames around the moment of interest, anchored on a mark when one
was made, otherwise on the frame with the largest change;

Qualify the burst-sheet guarantee.

The output reference omits BurstSheetPath and BurstFrames when fewer than two frames were captured or when no frame changed and no mark exists. This ADR states that every stopped recording returns a burst sheet. Add the omission conditions so the decision matches the response contract.
