Show your private or work commits on your GitHub contribution graph without leaking a single line of code.
An agent skill for Claude Code and other coding agents. It imports your real commit history from private, work, or self-hosted repos into a private mirror repo. It copies only commit timestamps and change sizes; source code, file names and commit messages stay on your machine.

npx skills add godofsleepy/github-contrib-importgit, Python 3, and one ofuv/pipx/python3-venv- GitHub CLI logged in (
gh auth login) - The commit email you use for the mirror must be verified on your GitHub account
Tell your agent:
import my contributions to github
It asks which repos to import, which author identities are yours, and what to name the mirror repo. Then it:
- Installs
git-import-contributions - Creates a private mirror repo
- Imports your commits with their original dates
- Shows you the commit count, spot-checked dates and author list
- Pushes only after you confirm
- Re-runs to prove there are no duplicates
Finally, turn on Settings → Public profile → Include private contributions on my profile.
For every commit you made, the mirror gets a commit with the same timestamp and a similar number of changed lines per file type, written into placeholder files (content.py, content.md, …). GitHub counts it on the day you actually did the work.
- Imports only commits you made. It never creates fake or backdated activity.
- Source repos are read-only.
- The mirror is always private.
- Never keeps original commit messages.
- Asks before pushing and never force-pushes.
- No tokens are written to disk.
If you import work repos, check that your employer is fine with publishing activity metadata (dates and volume), even without code.
