The toggle does what 86bbtqx3r asks: it's labeled by what it shows, the filter is still exclusive, and all 11 call sites are converted with no show_archived left over. The overflowWrap fix looks good.
The blocker is the rebase. #1139 moved GridToolbar into uicore (5.0.71), and that version only takes searchProps, checkboxProps, children and splitAt. I ran git merge-tree against master. Every page merges cleanly with the uicore import plus archiveToggleProps / filter, and the only conflict is grid-toolbar.js itself. So once the conflict is resolved, the archive toggles render nothing, archived rows can't be reached from any of those screens, and Summit Directory loses "Hide past events". CI won't flag it.
I think this needs a uicore PR that adds the toggle (and filter, or whatever replaces it), plus a version bump here. The general.active / general.archived strings would need to live in uicore's i18n or be passed in as props.
One more thing master picked up since this branch was cut: the Unpaid Charges report uses checkboxProps for its "Admin only" filter (src/pages/sponsors/sponsor-reports/unpaid-charges-report-page/index.js). This PR drops checkboxProps from the toolbar, so the uicore version needs to keep it, or that page needs converting too.
Restore checkboxProps for the summit directory filter.
The pinned GridToolbar consumes checkboxProps, not filter. The new filter element is ignored, so the hide-past-events checkbox is not rendered and users cannot apply that filter.

Thanks @caseylocker The toolbar changes now live in uicore (archiveToggleProps, the filter slot, ArchiveToggle with its general.active/general.archived strings in uicore's i18n, and the tests). They're published as 5.0.72-beta.0, and this PR is bumped to it. The rebase took master's delete of the local toolbar. The Unpaid Charges "Admin only" checkbox is moved to the filter slot, and Summit Directory already uses it.
