All three groups have the same throw site and different callers, so they are one bug. The Hub callers that hit the same path are the HighAlch scripts in aiofighter, giantmole and slayer (getHaPrice) and QoLPlugin (isHaProfitable).
Root cause
Rs2ItemModel.getHaPrice() read itemComposition directly. Models built from cached ids start with that field null: createFromCache, the (id, qty, slot, null) constructor, and the (id, qty, slot) constructor when the client-thread lookup returns nothing. Every other getter that reads the composition calls ensureCompositionLoaded() first. getHaPrice() did not, and isHaProfitable() calls getHaPrice(), so it failed the same way.
Change
getHaPrice() now calls ensureCompositionLoaded() when the composition is null, the same way getName() and getNotedId() do, and returns 0 if the composition is still missing. When it returns 0, isHaProfitable() returns false. This adds no new blocking, because loading uses the existing runOnClientThreadOptional path.
Added gotcha 19 to docs/entity-guides/items.md.
Added the unit test Rs2ItemModelHaPriceTest with two cases. With no composition available, getHaPrice() returns 0 and isHaProfitable() returns false. With a mocked composition, getHaPrice() loads it lazily and returns its price.
Validation
./gradlew :client:runUnitTests --tests '*Rs2ItemModelHaPriceTest' --tests '*ClientThreadGuardrailTest': Rs2ItemModelHaPriceTest passed 2/2 and ClientThreadGuardrailTest passed 1/1, both confirmed from the XML results.
The first test case builds the model with createFromCache, which throws the NPE on the old code.
The code review approved the fix as correct at the root. A sibling check found that Rs2DropSource, Rs2SpawnLocation and Rs2ShopItem already null-check their composition.
Known gaps
isHaProfitable() divides by quantity, so it still throws if quantity is 0. This PR leaves that alone.
If the composition can never be loaded, getHaPrice() now returns 0. A high-alch caller then skips waiting for the high-value alch confirmation, where before it threw an NPE.
The fix has not been tested live in the game client.
getHaPrice dereferenced itemComposition directly, so models built from
cached ids threw an NPE in getHaPrice and isHaProfitable. Load the
composition like the other getters and return 0 when it is unavailable.
