Add Grand Exchange and Plugin Hub endpoints to the Agent Server - #2134
Adds two endpoints to the agent server so an agent can trade on the GE and manage Plugin Hub plugins without clicking through the UI.
/ge: list offers, buy, sell, collect, abort, close. Goes through Rs2GrandExchange. A failed action returns 409 with the current offers
/plugins: search the hub, install (waits until the plugin is loaded, 202 if it's still busy at the timeout, 409 if health blocks it), remove
installPlugin/updatePlugin/removePlugin on MicrobotPluginManager return the Future so a caller can wait. The hub panel ignores it like before
/bank/withdraw takes "noted" so you can withdraw stuff as notes to sell it
cli: ge, plugins, bank withdraw --noted, npcs interact --id
docs for all of it, plus a note in AGENTS.md that the gradle daemon needs a JDK 17 install
The offer list in /ge reads getGrandExchangeOffers() off the client thread like Rs2GrandExchange already does, only the item name lookup goes through the client thread. Otherwise ClientThreadGuardrailTest flags a bunch of existing Rs2GrandExchange calls.
- /ge lists Grand Exchange offers and places buy, sell, collect, abort
and close actions through Rs2GrandExchange.
- /plugins searches the Microbot Plugin Hub, installs a plugin and waits
until it is loaded, and removes it. MicrobotPluginManager returns the
Future of install, update and remove so that a caller can wait.
- /bank/withdraw accepts "noted" to withdraw as notes or as items.
- microbot-cli: ge, plugins, bank withdraw --noted, npcs interact --id.
- Microbot.showMessage shows a non-modal message that closes after
8 seconds. The modal dialog stopped the calling script thread until a
person clicked OK.
- AGENTS.md: the Gradle daemon needs a JDK 17 install.

Walkthrough
The changes add Grand Exchange and Plugin Hub endpoints and CLI commands. Bank withdrawal requests can select noted items, and NPC interaction supports an ID-based form. Documentation describes the new commands and endpoints, and adds a JDK 17 prerequisite for the Gradle daemon.

Keep the installed plugin when a requested update cannot download.
When a loaded plugin receives a request for an unavailable version, the health check can permit the request. updatePlugin then removes the working plugin before install attempts the download. A failed download leaves the plugin removed. Validate that the requested version is available before updating, and stage the replacement before removing the installed plugin. Partly fixed: a version that isn't in the manifest's availableVersions now gets a 400 before anything is removed. Staging the download before removing the old jar means changing MicrobotPluginManager.update, which the hub panel uses too, so I'd rather do that in a separate PR
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
@Mechazawa Understood on keeping the shared MicrobotPluginManager.update change in a separate PR. The reported availableVersions check addresses invalid-version requests. A listed version can still fail to download, so the plugin-preservation concern remains open.
Would you like me to open a follow-up issue for staging the replacement before removing the installed plugin?
- /bank/withdraw returns 409 and withdraws nothing when the bank does
not switch to the requested noted or item mode.
- microbot-cli bank withdraw sends "noted" only with --noted or --items,
so a plain withdraw keeps the bank's current mode.
- /ge/buy and /ge/sell accept only whole-number prices and quantities,
and match the item name exactly. /ge/close reports success only when
the interface has closed.
- /plugins/install rejects a version the manifest does not list, and
both install and remove validate "timeout" before a task starts.
- MicrobotPluginManager.isLoaded checks the running plugins, so plugins
loaded by a profile refresh at client start count as loaded.
- Docs: which GE calls walk to the exchange, and how to wait for a
pending install to reach the requested version.

Confirm the abort before reporting collection success.
abortOffer() invokes “Abort offer” and immediately calls collectAll() without observing that the abort completed. collectAll() can return true after it invokes the collection action. The endpoint can therefore return 200 before the requested offer is aborted and collected. Wait for the abort state, then verify collection before reporting completion. As per coding guidelines, “Never report success you did not observe.” (raw.githubusercontent.com)

- /ge/abort succeeds only once the item's offer has left the exchange.
- /plugins/remove returns 409 when the plugin is still loaded after the
removal task, which happens for plugins the Plugin Hub did not load.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Thanks, this is a useful addition. The security side looks good: the new handlers go through the same token and loopback checks as the rest of the agent server, and /plugins/install can only resolve names from the Hub manifest. Two things need changing before it can merge:
/ge/buy, /ge/sell and /ge/abort walk on an HTTP thread with no time limit (GrandExchangeHandler.java:59-61 and :79-87, through Rs2GrandExchange.useGrandExchange()). An agent far from the GE blocks one of the 4 agent-server threads for the whole walk. That walk also runs alongside WalkHandler's activeWalk and works against it. When it finishes, the GE is still closed, so the request returns 409 anyway. Please don't walk in the handler: if !isOpen() && !openExchange(), return 409 with something like "not at the Grand Exchange, POST /walk first". Then update AGENT_SERVER.md and the CLI help, which currently promise the walk.
/plugins/install can report success while the old copy is still running (PluginHubHandler.java:111-123, MicrobotPluginManager.java:338-351). This happens when the same class is loaded from somewhere other than the Hub, such as a dev jar or a sideloaded plugin. remove() can't unload it, but the jar is still deleted. The new version is recorded, loadSideLoadPlugin skips it as already loaded, and the handler returns 200. In the update path, please check the result of the remove the way handleRemove does, and return 409 if the plugin is still loaded.
Smaller points, your call:
collectAll deposits the whole inventory into the bank when it is full, even with toBank=true. Either document that for /ge/collect and /ge/abort, or return 409 when the inventory is full.
Two /ge/* calls, or two installs of the same plugin, can run at the same time. A lock in each handler would serialise them.
microbot-cli npcs interact --id isn't documented, and a missing action is sent as "action":"".
Also, please move the JDK 17 note from AGENTS.md into docs/ (for example the build section of AGENT_SERVER.md). The note itself is correct, but AGENTS.md is an owner-only file. Without that change the PR can't go through the normal review-and-merge path.
…writes
- /ge buy, sell, collect and abort open the exchange only; they return 409
when it is out of reach instead of walking on an agent-server thread
- /ge collect and abort return 409 on a full inventory instead of
depositing it
- one GE write and one plugin install/remove at a time
- /plugins install and remove refuse a plugin loaded outside the Hub
before touching its jar; update checks the remove result
- npcs interact --id validates its arguments and is documented
- JDK 17 note moved from AGENTS.md to docs/AGENT_SERVER.md

Splitting update into remove and install meant a 202 after the remove left
the install unsubmitted and the plugin gone. The isLoadedFromHub pre-check
uses the same match remove() does, so the combined task always unloads it.

Pushed the review fixes directly:
/ge buy, sell, collect and abort no longer walk; they open the exchange when a clerk is in reach and return 409 "Not at the Grand Exchange; POST /walk there first" otherwise.
/ge/collect and /ge/abort return 409 on a full inventory instead of letting collectAll deposit it.
One GE write and one plugin install/remove at a time (409 while busy, including after a 202 timeout).
/plugins/install and /plugins/remove refuse a plugin loaded outside the Hub (dev or sideloaded jar) before touching its jar; normal updates stay a single remove+install task so a timeout cannot strand a removal.
npcs interact --id validates its args and is documented; the JDK 17 note moved from AGENTS.md to docs/AGENT_SERVER.md.
Tests added for the new 409 paths. Thanks for the feature.
