Breaking changes
  • The headerToolbarLeftElement class of the Event Calendar has been renamed to headerToolbarStart.
    Update your style overrides and class selectors:

     const theme = createTheme({
       components: {
         MuiEventCalendar: {
           styleOverrides: {
    -        headerToolbarLeftElement: { gap: 8 },
    +        headerToolbarStart: { gap: 8 },
           },
         },
       },
     });
  • The unused DEFAULT_PREFERENCES export of the Timeline store has been removed.

  • Recurring events and dependencies are now opt-in in the Event Timeline. Without the feature, each event with an rrule renders once:

    -<EventTimelinePremium events={events} />
    +<EventTimelinePremium events={events} features={{ recurringEvents: recurringEventsFeature }} />
  • The dateLocale prop and createDateLocaleTheme() take a locale string, like Intl.DateTimeFormat, instead of a date-fns locale object:

    -import { fr } from 'date-fns/locale/fr';
    -<EventCalendar dateLocale={fr} />
    +<EventCalendar dateLocale="fr-FR" />
  • The weekStartsOn preference uses ISO weekdays, from 1 (Monday) to 7 (Sunday). Sunday is 7 instead of 0.

  • Without ampm, times follow the hour cycle of the locale instead of a 12-hour clock, and defaultPreferences no longer includes ampm: true.

  • Dates use the Intl.DateTimeFormat formats of the locale, so some labels change slightly (for example "July 3" instead of "July 3rd"), and week numbers follow the locale.

  • Timed events shorter than one day that cross midnight now stay in the time grid by default, and the day grid row no longer shows a visible "All day" label. Use timeGridEvents: 'same-day-only' in viewConfig.day and viewConfig.week to keep the previous behavior.

Renovate update review

Verdict: (a) Safe to merge as is. No commits pushed.

  • Change: @mui/x-date-pickers 9.16.0 → 9.17.0 (minor), plus the matching @mui/x-internals bump in yarn.lock. It drops the reselect transitive dependency. The diff touches only frontend/package.json and frontend/yarn.lock.
  • Release notes: The only @mui/x-date-pickers changes are docs, forwarding readOnly to the input in PickersTextField, and a Digital Clock scroll fix. The release's "Breaking changes" section covers only the Scheduler packages (@mui/x-scheduler*, beta). This repo does not use them. It imports only DatePicker, LocalizationProvider and AdapterDateFns (frontend/src/components/date/ResponsiveDatePicker.tsx), so no migration is needed.
  • Local checks (frontend, at head 1c291e3): yarn install --immutable, yarn build and yarn lint all passed. I did not run the Vitest browser tests locally.
  • CI at review time: Socket Security and GitGuardian passed. frontend_build and CodeQL JS/TS were still running. backend_test was skipped because the PR has no backend changes.
  • Supply chain: Socket reports no alerts. I did not run the extra deps.dev/OpenSourceMalware vetting. The dependency skill requires only the impact and scan steps for Renovate PRs, and CI's OSM check covers the changed yarn.lock entries.

Renovate update review

Verdict: (a) Safe to merge as is.

  • Scope: @mui/x-date-pickers 9.16.0 → 9.17.0 (and its @mui/x-internals dependency, which drops reselect). The diff only touches frontend/package.json and yarn.lock.
  • Changelog: the listed breaking changes are all in the Scheduler (@mui/x-scheduler*), which this repo doesn't use. The only usage is src/components/date/ResponsiveDatePicker.tsx. The date-picker changes are small fixes: readOnly forwarding in PickersTextField, Digital Clock scrolling, and docs.
  • Local checks on the PR branch: yarn install --immutable, yarn build and yarn lint ran without errors, and yarn test:run passed (46 files, 504 tests).
  • CI at review time: Socket checks passed. The frontend build, CodeQL and GitGuardian checks were still running, and backend checks were skipped because the change is frontend-only.
