This adds server-side chatbot sessions. The caller creates a session once and sends one message per turn. Kaapi runs the turn on Celery and POSTs the reply to webhook_url.

One turn (process_chatbot_session_message):
process_chatbot_session_message
load session (inactive → failure webhook, stop)
transcript ends on assistant → skip (idempotent redelivery)

api/routes/chatbot/test_feature_flag.py
flag disabled → create / get-latest / send-message all return 403
api/routes/chatbot/test_session.py
reusing returned chatbot_ref → old session inactive+abandoned, new one active+in_progress
ref generation exhausted → 503, nothing created
inactive session → 409, no message stored, nothing enqueued
message omitted after start → 422
non-https webhook_url → 422
crud/test_chatbot.py
active-index violation → ChatbotSessionConflictError, only racing row remains
FK failure → prior session stays active (atomic supersede)
services/chatbot/test_session.py
pending user msg → reply stored, success webhook with merged collected_fields
transcript ends on assistant → no model call, no webhook (idempotent)
provider timeout / bad config → failure webhook, transcript + progress unchanged
services/chatbot/agents/onboarding/test_graph.py
history over token budget → older turns summarized once, shared by extraction + reply
complete only when is_complete AND missing_fields == []

Merge Danger
Door: one-way
088 creates chatbot_session and chatbot_session_message. Its downgrade() raises NotImplementedError, so stored conversations can't be rolled back by migration.
089 adds CHATBOT to the featureflagkey enum, and its downgrade is a no-op.
Reverting the code is still possible because the routes are flag-gated, but the schema stays.
Blast Radius: Moderate
Chatbot endpoints: No flag rows are seeded, so the endpoints return 403 until a superuser enables CHATBOT per project. New tables and routes are isolated.
Dependency upgrades:uv.lock upgrades anthropic from 0.104.1 to 1.12.1, a major version that switches to httpx2. It also bumps langchain-core from 1.5.3 to 1.6.9 and idna from 3.15 to 3.20. Any existing Anthropic or LangChain call paths in the LLM module should be smoke-tested.
Celery queue: Chatbot turns run at priority 9 on the default queue, alongside LLM jobs.
Config deletion:chatbot_session.config_id uses ondelete=RESTRICT. A config that is referenced by a chatbot session can no longer be hard-deleted.
Checklist
Before submitting a pull request, please ensure that you mark these task.
Ran fastapi run --reload app/main.py or docker compose up in the repository root and test.
If you've fixed a bug or added code that is tested and has test cases.
Notes
Enabling the feature: Create the flag per project with POST /feature-flags and enabled: true. Turns also need ANTHROPIC_API_KEY set.
Config pinning: The system_prompt and the config_id/config_version pin are locked at session creation. If config_version is omitted, each turn uses the latest version.
Stateless endpoint: The original description and the wiki mention a stateless POST /chatbot/message, but the /chatbot router in this diff only includes the session routes. Please confirm whether the stateless endpoint is still intended.
Added POST /chatbot/message, stateless chatbot endpoint; caller sends full message history each turn, gets back the updated transcript
Built ChatbotEngine using LangGraph + LangChain (ChatAnthropic), single-node graph handles one conversation turn
Added token-based history summarization: when history exceeds the token budget, older turns are compressed into a summary note before the model call
Wired chatbot model settings to existing Kaapi config system (config_id + optional config_version) so model, max tokens, and reasoning effort come from saved configs
Added langchain-anthropic dependency
Added two Alembic seed migrations (086, 087) for Anthropic text model configs
Added wiki docs for the chatbot module
Chatbot State Management Related Updates
chatbot conversation history is now stored on the server, the caller doesn't need to send the full history every time
create a session once (POST /chatbot/sessions), you'll get a session_id
send every message using that session_id (POST /chatbot/sessions/{session_id}/message), the server tracks history itself
on sending a message the API immediately returns 202; the bot's reply is processed in the background and POSTed to the caller webhook_url.
system prompt and config get locked while creating the session, the same settings stay throughout the conversation

The chatbot CRUD and flow APIs, versioning, session storage, Celery processing, onboarding graph, model configuration, feature flag, migrations, dependency, automated tests, API documentation, and wiki changes support the server-side configurable chatbot work in [#1230] and the PR intent. No unrelated change is demonstrated by the reviewed evidence.

Explanation
The title "feat: Kaapi Agentic Onboarding Chatbot Flow" matches the main change. The PR adds server-side chatbot sessions, an onboarding LangGraph agent flow, chatbot CRUD and flow routes, and the CHATBOT feature flag. The PR objectives name the same core feature, though they call it "Kaapi Agentic Chatbot Flow & State Management". The title omits the session and webhook delivery parts, which is an acceptable level of detail.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue [#1230] Stage 0 requires an admin-authored linear question sequence, persisted node progress, per-field retry limits with configured exhaustion actions, and per-node selection from a fixed tool catalogue. The PR adds flow CRUD, versioning, entry-node resolution, and persisted active_node_id, but process_chatbot_session_message runs only the current onboarding node and never advances through edges. ChatbotAgentNodeData has no retry or exhaustion settings, and the runtime has no per-node tool catalogue or tool execution. The added tests cover flow validation and session processing, but they do not establish these missing Stage 0 behaviors.
Resolution
Implement and test [#1230] Stage 0 execution. Run the configured ordered nodes and persist node progress across turns. Track field attempts and apply each field's configured retry and exhaustion action. Validate and execute the selected tools from a fixed catalogue. Add automated tests for node progression, retry limits, exhaustion actions, tool selection, and tool execution.

backend/app/services/chatbot/history.py:53-55 🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🟡 Minor | 🏗️ Heavy lift
Persist the summary, or stop re-summarizing the full prefix on every turn.
Once the transcript exceeds history_token_limit, each turn calls summarize_if_needed on the full older prefix. The summary is kept only in memory and is never stored, so later turns summarize the same messages again. Cost and latency grow with session length.

backend/app/api/routes/chatbot/session.py:132 🔒 Security & Privacy | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift
Pin the validated IP for callback delivery.
validate_callback_url resolves the webhook host with socket.getaddrinfo. _post_callback then calls session.post(callback_url, ...), and the HTTP stack resolves the host again when it connects. A DNS server that returns a public address for the check and a private address for the connection can make the worker connect to a private host. The send_callback docstring lists DNS rebinding protection as a feature, but the transport does not provide it.
This exposure predates this PR. The LLM, collections, and guardrails endpoints already send caller-supplied callback_url values through this transport. The new chatbot session route adds one more caller with the same exposure.
The TCP connection and TLS handshake reach the private address. The POST body is sent only after the TLS handshake and certificate check pass for the requested hostname. The likely impact is reachability probing of internal HTTPS endpoints.
Remedy direction: resolve the host once, reject the request if any resolved address is blocked, and connect to the validated address. Keep the original hostname for the Host header, TLS SNI, and certificate verification. Until this lands, remove the "DNS rebinding protection" claim from the send_callback docstring in backend/app/utils.py.
Note: this behaviour predates this PR (already present at merge base baf0ff2939dd); the change keeps it reachable.
