The editorial index duplicated the topic row list below and wasted vertical space. Keeps the dark-mode elevation fix (already on main).
Flip typeset editorial -> modern: swaps Playfair for tight Hanken Grotesk display type across the site for a modern product-editorial feel. Warm palette unchanged.

* Revert homepage to card layout The editorial index duplicated the topic row list below and wasted vertical space. Keeps the dark-mode elevation fix (already on main). * Switch to modern typeset (confident sans display, site-wide) Flip typeset editorial -> modern: swaps Playfair for tight Hanken Grotesk display type across the site for a modern product-editorial feel. Warm palette unchanged. * Headings in Geist (variant of modern typeset) Same as the modern typeset but display/heading font is Geist Sans (Vercel's tech-focused grotesk) instead of Hanken. Body stays Source Serif, UI stays Hanken. For A/B against the Hanken-headings PR. * Fix hero headline wrapping with Geist Geist is wider/bolder than Playfair, so at the old 96px cap 'from kernels' overflowed the ~547px headline column and 'kernels' wrapped, stranding 'from'. Cap at 80px so it fits + text-wrap: balance. * Align hero figure to top of headline Hero grid was align-items:center, floating the figure down to the middle of the text stack. Top-align so the figure meets the headline.

Turns on the existing (but dormant)
moderntypeset site-wide.What changes:
--font-displayswaps from Playfair Display → Hanken Grotesk (confident, tight sans) everywhere — hero, section titles, article titles, listings, CTAs. This is the Stripe/Linear "modern product-editorial" direction. The mechanism was already built and tested; it was just switched off.What does NOT change: the warm paper palette, the oxide accent, spacing, layout, dark-mode fix. Type language only.
Also includes the homepage card revert (from #45) as its baseline, so this supersedes #45.
Preview the whole site — homepage and an article — in the new type language on the Cloudflare deployment. If it lands, next step is editorial hierarchy (one lead story instead of two flat card grids).
