Droid finished @factory-droid[bot]'s task —— View job The channel-compute guidance incorrectly implies administrator configuration is required for all channel mentions, contradicting the documented ad hoc picker and saved-default workflow. Clarify that ordinary mentions in unconfigured channels can still select a computer. 1 inline comment posted |
| Slack sessions can run on a Droid Computer: | ||

| - **DMs with `@Factory`** run as you. Pick the computer in **Settings** → **Session Defaults**, in the **Delegations** section at the bottom of the page. | ||
| - **Channel mentions** use the channel's configured computer, which an admin sets in the Slack channel settings. See [Slack](/integrations/slack#run-droid-as-yourself) for details. |

[P2] Preserve ad hoc computer selection for channel mentions
This makes administrator-configured channel compute sound mandatory for every channel mention, but docs/integrations/slack.mdx:108 explicitly says standard mentions work without channel configuration, and line 141 documents an ad hoc computer picker with a saved default for future mentions. Users mentioning Factory in an unconfigured channel are therefore directed to an administrator instead of the supported picker/default workflow. Distinguish configured channel workflows from ordinary ad hoc mentions.

Documents how to run Droid as yourself from Slack, so Factory can answer this question without escalating.
integrations/slack.mdx: new "Run Droid as yourself" section. DMs to@Factoryrun with your personal identity and connected apps; DMing yourself and mentioning@Factoryprompts for a code channel; channel mentions follow the channel's Run as setting. Explains where to set the compute, model, and instructions for DM sessions (Settings > Session Defaults > Delegations).cli/features/droid-computers.mdx: replaces the vague "can be selected via Slack" line with how the computer is chosen for DMs vs. channel mentions.Source: Slack thread with Davis Palmie.
