wayland-protocols 1.50 was released on 2026-10-29, and main's pin gate (Kernel currency, run 40936832721) failed on it: NOT REVIEWED: wayland-protocols 1.49 -> 1.50.

The 10 commits from 1.49 to 1.50 (GitLab's compare API) touch protocol XML and documentation only:

  • new experimental xx-hotkey-v1 and xx-image-capture-color-management-v1;
  • presentation-time gains flags for variable and fixed refresh;
  • linux-dmabuf spells out its format_table rules;
  • typo fixes across the stable and staging XML;
  • meson stops building enum headers in strict mode.

Nothing runs from it and nothing is a security fix. The bump rebuilds every image, as stage 04 builds wayland-protocols before wlroots, so the pin stays at 1.49 with a fine row until the next image rebuild.

Check: check-pin-reviews.sh given a survey of wayland-protocols 1.49 1.50 BEHIND reports nothing for it, and the same survey at 1.51 reports NEW RELEASE: ... reviewed up to 1.50, upstream is at 1.51.

tools/pin-reviews.tsv only, no image change: it can ride a push as an extra.

1.50 came out today and main's pin gate failed on it. Its ten commits
are protocol XML and documentation: two new experimental protocols,
refresh-rate flags in presentation-time, linux-dmabuf's format_table
rules and typo fixes. Nothing runs and nothing is a security fix, and
the bump rebuilds every image, so the pin stays at 1.49 for now.
